hi, i have an omega elite, 3.0litre estate auto.
the battery constantly dies overnight, yet when the car is jumpstarted, it will stop and start fine...all day.
but once its parked up and left overnight the batteries dead again.
i'm sure everythings switched off....is there anything that may be causing it component wise...?
the battery was put on a rover the other day, and has been fine...i've put it back on the omega, and connected it up, and its dead again today...
there is a thick red cable going to the battery, that looks like its been damaged at some point, and connected to the battery, with just the battery clamp, wedging it underneath it...? any ideas..(no comedians please..i'm already married..!)

  Don't like the sound of that, but seems to me you may have a drain on the battery somewhere, probably best to have it checked by an auto electrician :-/.

Yes there is a drain somewhere. Have you tried disconnecting that red wire?  Make sure the boot light is off when you close the tailgate.

Try disconnecting the power sounder for the alarm - Its a favourite for battery drain

 I`m led to believe its under the scuttle panel ?

I had this happen to me on a Cavalier once - turned out to be the boot light switch was damaged and on all the time.

Could also be one of the rear passenger door lights being in the on position.

as others have said check for the obvious lights staying on etc & sort out those battery connections, if your happy they are o,k then check to make sure the ign light isnt glowing slightly with the ign off [best done at night], failing that if youve fitted an after market stereo that could be the problem if its a cheapy, i had this with mine
