CDC SAFE

I just purchased a 2000 X reg CDX with the 2006 stereo/4 disk changer. Stereo has CDC SAFE fault message. Where can I get this reprogrammed and how much will it cost? Is it possible to get it done without having to remove myself and post? Can the Vauxhall dealer fix this for me? Very annoying as seller failed to mention this and I failed to test! :(

Assume the radio works? Sounds like the CD changer is bust, DaveDND might be able to fix it, drop him a PM.

If your radio does not work, you need to enter the code from your car pass.

I have the radio code but apparently this unit does not have a seperate cd code; radio and cassette work fine.

CDC Safe = CD Cartridge, thats whats failed. Playing CD-R's in them can kill it quicker. Drop DaveDND a PM  :y

This is a failure of the eprom on the CD section of the unit.

It does not need a code and its not related to the cartridge.  Its an eprom problem that requires specialist equipment to fix. Contact Dave DND for repair.

CDC SAFE is indeed a software failure, and there are very few that can fix this fault.
