Parking Sensors
« on: 01 November 2009, 13:09:54 »

Developed a fault today - place 3.2 auto elite in reverse and a continuous tone is now emitted instead of beeps indicating proximity to obstacle.

Any ideas on this - possibly one faulty sensor?

Clean them first, then pop them out one by one and check rear wiring before you get to involved.

My cheap set started doing this after a good wash & polish so I just unplugged the faulty sensor ::) ::)

I don't rely on them totally anyway so not a major problem :y :y

Will get onto this tomorrow - problem started after the massive storms whilst in Cornwall. No hint of problem before.

Sensors don't pop out it seems - looks like bumper off.

I am totally lost without the sensors - had the feature too long now - used to reversing with the confidence of an extra pair of eyes. Sad but true.

Temporarily defeated - it is not the sensors or the control unit - therefore is the wiring loom.

Snag - kit is not on TC and VX want £230 - so they expect me to buy sensors and control unit I do not need just to get wiring.

Bumper back on and now will be used without sensors working pro tem.

Anybody out there got the wiring loom for this??

After a long chat with VX parts here is situation - I do not need to buy a full kit:

You can get the wiring looms separately:

Part no. 90513509 - Sensors to Control Unit
This is an Opel only part but can be obtained separately and costs £51 plus VAT

Part no. 9268556 - Control Unit to vehicle
This is a VX part and is £27.75 plus VAT

Next step is how long to get hold of one.
