Lost All Dash Warning Lights And Electric Windows.
« on: 10 October 2009, 12:03:11 »

Hi, I did a stupid thing whilst changing a fan relay in the under bonnet fuse/relay box, i forgot to turn off the ignition :o ::).

It sparked when i removed it using a screwdriver to prise it up and when i replaced it and went back to the ignition I'd lost all the dash warning lights and electric windows :-?.

Thinking it was a fuse i checked them and found a 15amp had blown in the box under the steering column, changed it but still no lights or windows :(.

I have the earlier model with just the one fuse/relay box under the bonnet, so can anyone tell me what's gone pop :question.

      Thanks,
                 Pete :).

Fuse #1 & #7 in cabin fusebox control windows. Both 30A.
Have you checked the fusible links by the battery :question

Yes Rob have checked all the fuses in both fuse boxes, the one under the bonnet and under the steering column and they look OK to me so am at a loss as to why i have no dash warning light or electric windows :(.

PS. I did notice that when i was sat looking at the dash with the engine running before i sparked the relay removing it that the battery light came on so i switched off and restarted and it went out, don't know if this means anything :-/.

As far as i can see Rob yes and the engine starts fine,  all the lights work including the dash light just not any of the warning lights at the bottom or leccy windows :-?.

Have you tried a multi-meter on the supply terminals of fuses #1&7 to check for power :question

Does anyone know what fuse 15 does in the fusebox under the steering column?
