self levelling action on xenons
« on: 17 December 2009, 16:04:24 »

How can you tell the self levelling action is working on your xenon lights. My HID adjuster arm had come loose and was resting on the wishbone. It has since been reattached and there are no warnings on the info display. I'm assuming therefore everything is OK, but is there a test you can do to make sure the lights are actually undertaking the self levelling action.

Thanks.

Drive up about 20' from wall with headlights on.  Get a fat/heavy mate to sit on bonnet, then site in boot.  Headlight aim should be in same place on wall.

Thanks for that. Will I need new shock absorbers after carrying out this procedure?  ;D

mind the fat mate dont dent the bonnet though

ive got the same problem with my adjuster, needs replacing

another way to test is to stop on a steep hill, turn the lights off then back on, you should see the beam go down onto the road
