Stereo Question
« on: 31 December 2009, 12:02:46 »

Hi All!!

Hope you had a good Xmas!

Now I know this question has been asked many times before but I just cant find the link.

I recently bought a new (non vaux) stereo and what I need to know is which wires do I swap for the permanent live in order to store radio stations etc.

Many thanks and a Happy New Year!

No idea, but the factory fit radio has a sticker on top with locations/functions of each pin.

Guessing yellow and red, but that is a guess

They are the normal colours on aftermarket jobbies, most have bullet connectors on so they can be easily swapped over.

Thanks guys

That makes sense I have a red/grey cable and a yellow/grey cable so I'll swap these over.

What make and model did you buy?

Chances are that you will need to use an adapter to match the pins in the back of the radio to the vauxhall plugs on the wiring loom.
