Which cheap runaround to get
« on: 16 February 2008, 20:54:06 »

I need a cheap economical runabout as I am starting a new job on Monday which requires me to use my own transport to not only get to work but to drive around various sites during the day.
As nice as the Miggy is, it isn't the most economical motor for this kind of thing. I am keeping the Miggy, just need a little motor for work.
I have seen quite a few Fiestas for around £500 which look decent enough.  :y

m experiences of fiestas of that value is that they are normally full of rust.

I voted Corsa, IMO they are a better put together car, and there are a few of them around at sensable money

we have just bought a n reg CDX for £250, taxed and tested!!!! the cambelt has slipped so it needs a new head, no biggy on this, £100 for a head £50 for odds and ends and we have a bargain  :y

You have to ask?. The other two look half decent, Kas look like noddy should be driving and they're not much cheaper to run.

in the trade they are known as ford kaks

engines rattle, the cars rust like buggery, early ones have appauling fit and finish.

they are popular due the fact the girlies like them and they are cheap to insure

That's a possibility actually as both my sister in law and her son own one.

Don't know if it matters at that price.  clit is usually the best for the price, but still take a couple grand to get something reasonable.  Miggy is actually cheapest reliable car I know of.  As for me I'd rather pay the fuel than buy a heap.
