Can you retro fit an Auxillary radio input plug into a standard vauxhall radio

Not without hacking it about. There's a low quality mono input for phone integration but not suitable for music IMHO.

I was thinking about taking my 2006 apart and investigating whether anything better could be done in the same way that I did for the line out http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1174515451 but I'm leaning towards just getting a head unit that will play MP3 without fumbling around with en iPod anyway. :-/

In a nutshell, it transmits the ipod choons on a radio frequency that the radio is tuned to, with frequency far away from potential 'real' radio stations.

The UK will stay a mixture of metric & Imperial for many many years yet! You get to know what metric will fit the old Imperial stuff, especially when some of the ancient kit you work on is American  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D
