I have a flat battery, due to the car not being used for 3 weeks, do i remove it to charge or disconnect and charge whilst still in the car?
Sounds dim I know, but every time I try to disconnect, the alarm sounds!

The key is to start with Ign on, radio off.  Many think its ok to turn ign on (and thus radio) whilst holding AS, but that doesn't work.

You've got 15 secs between turning your ignition off & disconnecting the battery  :y
Please read the manual  ;)

Ah, if you've had more than 3 code entry attempts, then:

a) your code is obviously wrong, don't keep trying it ;)
b) you have a 'wait' period, where you have to leave ign on for between 10 and 600 mins (10hrs!) before reattempting.

On the missus's Astra I stuffed the code 3 times and had to leave the ignition and radio on for 2 hours before it let me in again - just long enough to lock it with the spare key and nip out for a few bevvies.

Oh, and I've heard if you hold the AS key down for 10 minutes straight that sometimes does it. Preferred to drink than sit there like a dutch lad trying to plug a dyke.

Hi The Boy
Thanks for coming back, :y  bloody hell, would be ok then to leave the radio ON whlist using the car ie stop start driving until this safe message disappears, i know the codes are correct have used before or is it a case of leaving ignition on for short periods of time, what would be the best way  :-?
     Cheers

Well I'll be ... it didn't like my spelling of d-y-k-e. Presumaby thought the dutch lad was plugging something more racy than a dam.

the ign has to be on in one long period - switch off restarts the wait timer
