NCDR 2011
« on: 26 May 2010, 02:14:18 »

Hi all

I have a facelift model on a T plate - it has the NCDR 2011, which I believe wasn't fitted as standard on UK models.

I'd like to fit a 2012 or 2013 (with multichanger) as I can't play CD's if I'm using the sat nav.

Is it possible to just remove the 2011 and insert the 12/13 or will I need to do anything else?

And does anybody know where I can get one from?

Any advice will be much appreciated

Is this the green one that was on Ebay?

You would be looking for an NCDC2013 or NCDC2015 to replace the NCDC2011.

You will require the Head unit and screen to be depaired (You will need the car pass for this action as the current method of obtaining the code from these units won't work with an NCDC2011) using a genuine TechII then the Head units swapping and the new head unit paired to your screen.

TheBoy currently has an NCDC2013 for sale.  :y

Does thaty car have the Bose setup?

Not a problem either way as the NCDR/C range can have Bose mode enabled or disabled to suit the vehicle.

No - I have no speakers on the parcel shelf. It seems like they rushed a facelift through and it's got everything CID etc, but skimped on the sound system for some reason.

It's daft having only one CD slot when the car has sat nav.

Go figure??

That particular head unit was fitted more on Vivaro Vans than anything else.

You can actually upgrade them to a 2013 if you can locate the autochanger, bezel, etc etc.... infact, most of the parts off a 2013! Used to be a company in Germany that offered the upgrade service.

That's interesting to know - I've decided to keep the car, I've never had a Vauxhall till this - mostly fords, peugeots, rover and the odd merc.

This car drives and handles better than them all - and she's very quick. So would like to upgrade stereo system and do a couple of bits on bodywork.

If I could only get her to do 30 mpg then it would be a match made in heaven, LOL.

Even the MPG doesn't put me off. It's a very nice car.

I think everyone on here would echo that! LPG is the way to go to lower your fuel costs.

That has crossed my mind but, I'd hate to lose the boot space. It's just an ideal car. I put on eBay as an exercise in market research.

I had 1 official offer and 7 through my e-mail - some decent offers but none that I would consider worth it.

Plus, my last car was a mondeo and I was a member of an owners forum for that - even the Omega forum is far friendlier and approachable(?) than that was. I've had so much help and support - offers of practical help as well - and it all adds to the experience.

At the ripe old age of 49 I've been converted to Vauxhall.

It far exceeds the mercs have had as well, not just in trim but in understated performance.
