Boy racer mmmwwwwaaaaaaaahhhhhh
« on: 18 February 2008, 20:42:02 »

i was out driving my lovley mig, when i pulled up at the lights and these boy racers pulled up along side, and started to rev up the engine menacingly, it was a suped up looking 1300 rover 213, blue lights undeneath the car, flame red, looked the part, they shout hey granddad, " i am only 39 ffs", nice old mans car, to which i replied you gotta be a man to drive it, as they set off taking 2000 miles of rubber of their car whilst wheel spinning like crazy, i gently smirked and as i watched them frown thru my rear view mirror i thought, thank got for the 2.5 v6 beast i have under my hood, then i thought stupid thing to do, not done my cambelt yet...lol.. I love my mig.

Some of these boy racers may have you from take off but when they start to run out of breath at 60 is when the V6 just keeps on pulling 8-)

Had 2 chavs in a Saxo and a ropey old Golf try it on once - when I was sitting at the lights in the Westfield. ::) They'd do well to read up on the sort of performance that they can expect to be up against before drawing attention to themselves.

Played with them a little through 1st then short shifted into 2nd and planted it until the rev limiter, by which time they were going backwards. ;D

OK, a 996 did then come past me like I was standing still. c'est la vie! :-[

Love it, it would have been embarrassing if the cam belt had given way though. 8-)

True. He did have a rolling start but it would have sounded like sour grapes if I'd mentioned that.  ;D

I think he also had a considerable aerodynamic advantage given the speed we were doing. The Westfield might be quick off the line but it hits a bit of a brick wall at <mumble> MPH. :-X
