Headlight woes

Ok, MFL V6 Elite with Xenons.

Failed MOT due to headlight beam not being able to be adjusted.

It was my fault as I replaced the original unit with one that hadnt got lenses that were going yellow with age.

Have just stripped it down and can see that the electrical adjuster wasn't in place properly due to the U shaped white bit being "too far away" from the ball end of the adjuster motor thingy.

whatever I did with the 2 manual adjusters seemed to make no difference.

So, I've put the original back in and will re-present it tomorrow for another test & see what happens.

Any ideas guys?

Sounds like the adjusters furbarred, altho it does take a lot of turning to move the lenses a small amount!!

New remanufactured metal ones were available from someone on here recently - have a read - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1267116357

Quick fix park close to garage door , "adjust" so that both beams same height and "wedge" it in place.  Tester should only test for beam dazzle - no dazzle OK and you can fix properly then.

I'd put back in the original lights and give them a polish with a machine buffer and some Farecla, I did it to my yellowing headlights and it brought them up a treat...
