Hi All,

My x reg Omega 2.2 estate has suddenly decided to discharge the battery whilst switched off. The battery is only about 6 months old. Disconnected the battery, every thing switched off and key removed, doors closed. Connected Amp meter between battery and battery connection. Inital current draw of just over 1 amp (noticed interior lights on) waited till the interior lights go out and still drawing approx 250mAmp. Removed and inserted fuses one at a time and came to the conclusion that there is a problem with fuse 7. Tried again with fuse 7 removed. No lights this time and only about 20milli Amp draw so its obviously the lamp circuit some where. Anyone tried finding out what the normal draw is when everything is switched off ?

I dont have a manual so not sure where to look next?
Any ideas guys ?

Thanks to the link for the manual. Any idea what the "check control " is? Battery is being recharged for the moment so will try further tests again tomorrow

Thanks for the responses but I have rechecked the fuse number and it appears to be number 7. I have pulled it and the windows still work but the interior lights dont. According to page 188 of the pdf (OmegaOct2002.pdf), page 186 on the actual scanned in manual, it is the lights, check cct and engine oil level ! Anyone know where the lights check circuit control unit is ?

Isn`t fuse 7 the one that supplies the problematic powersounder?

May be worth unplugging and see if anything changes?

Fuse 7 feeds the accessory delay timer and through it items such as courtesy lights and the accessory socket relay. It's not unknown for them to fail in the closed state meaning that these circuits are permanently powered..

The coil of the accessory socket relay and the illumination around the electric window switches remain powered in this state and will drain the battery slowly.

I would say the accessory timer is your problem.
