« on: 18 August 2010, 18:56:20 »

How far out is it? Is the inserted map valid for the area? Worth a reset (CLEAR for 8s)

Check also to see how many satellites you are receiving, if the answer is zero, then change the aerial

That didn't solve it :( been told they receive 6 satellites on green
Its shows red when 3 satellites or less
it shows yellow when 4-5 satellites

One of them put in there home address and it started taking them in the wrong direction

Sounds like the Gyro in the main unit has failed then

Sorry, long time since I`ve been inside one - we don`t tend to bother nowadays as parts are non existant to fix them, so no point us opening them up.

There are some others on here who have some secondhand bits though, I`m sure they will be along shortly

If you have a compete unit for spares, then just swap the whole unit !!

A lot easier than messing about with the gyroscope

I believe gyros are in vertical board where the little flylead from satnav aerial at back plugs into. I could be wrong though.

I know where codes are stored on these, but not sure if such info should end up in public domain  :-X

Can they post up the 1st page of satnav diags screen, along with the precise location they were in at the time (to cross ref with a google maps), see if we can work out whats what.

Don't suppose they are near me?
