Anyone know how to get the cd to eject the 6 disc cartridge to put discs in? when i open the door on the changer and press the eject button it lights up green for a couple of seconds but doesnt eject?? am i power missing from somewhere or is there a factory reset button to press. the car was stood for a long time with no battery but the radio doesnt seem to need a code at power up (good really as i dont have the code)

Apart from replacing it with another one, or a new system, No, afraid not

had this problem, with a cartridge full of decent cd's stuck inside, it took a hacksaw, hammer and alot of swearing to get into it to get the cartridge out, by the end of it the unit was fubard.

The changer units are pretty common anyways so not expensive to replace and they are not coded so will plug and play.

Depends which 6 disc CD player. There are various versions of these multi-disc players with similar/same name ..... & mine is coded to my headunit.

philips ones are mostly DC012's which are uncoded, the later ones are made by blaupunkt and usually are, sevreral variations of them as well.

Its probably quicker to rip the whole lot out now and put in a single head unit, i dont even have a working aeriel in the car so i was going to retro fit one in the roof ( the aeriel that is  )

Chris,you could try what i did when i had same problem. Undo the small ( 6mm or 7mm ) nut on the unit and pull the entire thing upwards. You mention the radio doesn't need a code but  before trying the next bit MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CD CODE, then unplug the multi-plug connector and leave for half an hour. Reconnect and you should then be able to use the eject button, after it cycles through any discs. Worked for me on the similar Blaupunkt system,worth a go.Good luck.

Wrong changer, unlike your Blaupunkt CDC2, I think the OP has a Philips 012 changer fitted

this sounds similar to what's happening with mine, I press the eject button but nothing happens. However I've never used one of these before, so i'm not really too sure what is supposed to happen...not missing a trick am I??

as long as the eject button is lit green, it should eject, you should hear the mechanism return the currently loaded cd back into the cart, then it will eject.

if not its jammed.

taking the unit apart is the only method of ejecting the cart manually, depends how rough you are as to whether it will go back together, generally not servicable tho as they are so cheap its best to buy a working s/h one.

Hi, I don't know if this helps, but my blau(however you spell it) was not ejecting the CD carrier.

I removed the unit from the car, and forced out the CD holder.
Upon inspection the small white sprung roller inside the unit, that appears to put some kind of pressure on the top of the CD carrier had been bent round almost 180 degrees. When I forced the carier out the roller 'pinged' off, but I was able to locate it and bend the spring that holds it back into shape. After much fiddling (and swearing) with a set of fine nose pliers I was able to put the roller back in.

Having put it back in (and figuring out how to enter the CD-SAFE code (why don't they tell you that in the book?)) it works fine. just have to be careful inserting the CD holder.
