Hi guys, done a search on this but nothing coming up for me with an answer.

Airbag light on consantly, so sent it down to the garage and they found 3 faults, 2 of which were fixed by them cutting out the connector blocks under the seat and wiring them direct.

Reset and it's still showing one remaining fault for 'lateral airbag sensor' - thats what he told me. 

They are scractching their heads a bit - anyone know what this is or where I could find it and lastly - how to fix it!

I believe the lateral sensors are in the front doors.  They detect side impacts.

In terms of a fix, I cant help I'm afraid, but someone is sure to be along with the answer you need soon enough!

I'd love to know what code reader is reporting that..

The connector blocks are a known fault, and TIS does report that as a fix, so happy with that repair.

Im guessing the remaining fault is one of the door sensors, did they indicate a side?

If so, removing and reseating the main loom conector going into each door may help, possibly with a squirt of switch cleaner as well.

More info along with the fault code, and the live data associated with it will help a lot

from memory (please check!), 73 is drivers door sensor, 74 is passenger.

Tis reckons replace if they had sensed, but I'd look to wiring

Same problem here   can I ask you, if you lock the door by pushing the button down, can you pull it back up and open them.....?   I can't and no they are not stuck so got to be electrical and there is a connection between the two as the doors unlock automatically if an air bag is deployed...

Sorry, but no, I have not sorted it out yet..

Disconnect the battery before undoing that connector!

Where is that connector though? Inside the door (doortrim off job?)

Checked the locks and if I push down the passenger lock it just locks that door, not the others and I can pull it up again.

Main door connector - open door, you can see it.

Pull red tab out, then rotate connector 90 degrees.

well tried the door connector, cleaned it and reset the light but now joy.  The mechanic has traced checked all the wiring leading from the lateral airbag sensor (bottom left of passenger door) back to the ECU and nothing wrong, he's sure the fault is in the sensor itself.  Opel want 130euro, i'm thinking scrapyard - what do ye think?

He also said that if I plug in a new one and switch on and off the ignition the light should clear itself?  Is this true or does it need to be plugged in?

No, airbag faults set the light on and it wont clear when the fault has gone away until the light has reset.

I may be mistaken but I thought there was an airbag sensor in the central console/armrest in the vicinity of the rear cigarette lighter :-/

I think there was a thread a couple of months back where someone posted a photo of it and asked if anyone knew what it was.

In this thread The Boy states that the airbag ECU is under the centre armrest so I was mistaken
