Either front or rear level sensor on the nearside suspension or level motor in either head light

Tech II or a proper code reader will tell you where the fault lies.

Does it only happen on very cold days?  When it's below freezing I've started getting that message, but not when it's above ~2C - I'm guessing the lights are frozen in position ;D

As Andy B says - the HID levelling system has detected a fault with itself, and will try to put lights in a safe (ie, low) position if it can.

Normally, its the sensor on the NSF wishbone needs clipping back on. If thats OK, likely to be one of the servo motors, but check rear sensor (as its easy) first

Just a quick and probably stupid question - when I start my Omega is always says 'brake check' in the radio display section. It goes off when I touch the brakes and all the brake lights and brakes are working fine - is that what is supposed to happen?
Thanks.

You're checking both brake lamps when you initially press the pedal, if it stays on or comes on when driving it means you've a duff brake light.  :y (pretty sure the centre high level isn't on the check circuit)
