Phillips On Star Radio & Multi cd player
« on: 25 February 2011, 15:12:04 »

Hi all,

Just laid my hands to an Elite estate, mini facelift. It was my dads and as he didn't use it much so disconnected the battery. When reconnected, my dad put the radio code and all is well but when I try to put the multi cd player code in, it won't let me.
With ignition on, radio is off.
Hold cd button and switch on.
It should beep and after 3 secs allow me to enter code.... it doesn't  :-?
All is does is show CD Safe on the MFD and nothing else.
Ive held the cd button for 2 minutes, still nothing.

Just come back from my Vx dealer and they don't have a clue ::)

Any ideas please? TIA

Think it`s same procedure as radio except press "0" instead of "AS"

Might well be :-/
OP have you done this procedure assuming it`s a CCRT700

Switch on ignition,
Radio On
Select CD
Switch off CCRT700 with OI key.

Press hold CD,
Switch on CCRT700 with OI key, keep CD pressed until confirmation beep.
The display shows CD-Code for 3 secs
Then CDC Code ---- (10)
Enter Code

Confirm "OK" by press the muti-function control.

CD SAFE may also indicate that an incorrect code has been entered and it needs to be left switched on for a while to reset before another code entry attempt is possible

Hi Dave DND,

Can I pick your brains as your the one in the know  :y

I've followed all the instructions for my CCRT700 to put the code in for the cd multi changer, but it doesn't even give me the opportunity to put a code in.
I get cd code on the display, but no beeps and no way to enter a code? :-?

I've been to my Vx dealer, Halfords and a specialist car audio dealer.... they all just scratch there heads and look dumb! >:(

I've been trawling the 'net for answers but can't find any?

Your my last hope before I flip!! lol

Cheers, Dave

Code Entry as Follows:

Turn Off Stereo
Switch On Ignition (No Need To Start Engine)
Press & Hold Preset " CD " and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" CDC " And Then Shows " - - - - "
Enter CODE in the order it is read - eg:
For Example, to Enter Code 1234
Press Preset 1 then 2 then 3 then 4
If the correct code number is now shown
Press & Hold Preset " CD "
And the CD with switch on

Hi Dave DND,

the instructions you given me are the same as the manual, except the display shows "cd code" after I switch it on with the the cd button depressed.
I have no way of entering a code, it doesn't allow it   :(

Remove changer and head unit for one hour, refit changer first, then head unit and try again to enter codes
