Tbh if you have an aftermarket head unit in its unlikely you ever had Bose in the car as Bose sticks out its sound at 2 Ohms whereas most systems are 4 Ohms and not really interchangable so the whole system would need to be changed...

i am not looking to put bose in the car just whether it is bose and someone has chucked an aftermarket stereo in and it is working somehow, what i want to know is the easiest way to tell whether the car is bose and what h/u was standard  ;)
simple things like if there are two coaxials at the rear i would assume that it was a ccrt 700 :y but havent looked yet  :-[   just wondered if by looking at connections at the rear of h/u whether you can tell it was or is a bose set up  :y

MV6 unlikely to have Bose as standard, look in the boot for a Bose speakers & amp, its a big black plastic shelf underneath the parcel shelf.

The plastic covers on the parcel-shelf speakers will also carry an embossed 'Bose'.

Bose was never even an option on the MV6 - although a few crept through. As has been said, look for the Bose logo on the parcel shelf speakers and tray amp under the shalf on the saloon. On estates if you open the flap in the load bay with the first aid symbol on you will find it empty of non-Bose, or full of a subwoofer if Bose.

ok then so no plastic tray under parcel shelf = no bose
thats good, right at the moment it has a sony h/u and sony cd changer in boot, this is ok for now but would like to fit a standard radio/ cd , in the cubby hole in the boot with the cd changer is a piece of plastic attatched to a bracket which looks like it should be attatched to the curved section of the wheel arch with two bolts, the plastic box has what looks like a metal aerial coming out of it  :-/ any idea what this is for  :question

If the trip computer display is full height, then the radio will be a CCR800. If it half height then it will be a CCRT700 unit.

Which display do you have?

So, if its a MFL car, AND its got the Bose amp/speakers on/under the rear shelf then the HU will be a CCR800.

If you want one then I think a mate of mine has one available.

yes is a mfl so in the case that it wasnt ever bose what would be standard h/u and cdc

That MID is pre minifacelift. Bose was only fitted to minifacelift and full facelift

In that case, unless this is an actual picture of your display, then your car dosn't have Bose as there was never a PFL MV6 (caveated - other than Police and sold in the UK).

You will therefore be looking at the CCR600 rather than 800 as the HU.
