Steering Wheels Controls and Pioneer DEH Units
« on: 10 March 2011, 15:46:37 »

Car: 2.0 16v Auto CDX
I have installed a Pioneer DEH 110 CD Unit - Excellent quality with iPod interface (FM superb, AM reception is very poor but a separate issue already posted as a question)  :-/

I would like to use the 'Steering Remote Controls' advised to buy Autoleads PC99-X06 adapter, it is the correct adapter set, but my mechanic said that there is a lead missing  :o

Probably a 20pin to 16pin (grey or black connectors) this is supposed to connect from the 'box on the PC99-X06' to the main car loom/steering wheel?
Autoleads refer to something called a 'patchlead' is that what I need?

I was told by my mechanic that this 'lead' should have been left in the car, regardless of what after market stereo was fitted?

Alternatively - if someone has one - happy to purchase! :y

Cheers!

Hi Dave
Thanks for your help in getting the Patch Lead to me.
Unfortunately not working?

I have followed the 'instructions to the letter but not luck.
I  connected the 'new ISO lead' (Autoleads PC99-X06) to the Head Unit, connected the patch lead you supplied (PC99-SON) but didn't plug in the Jack plug.
I then checked to ensure that the Battery/Power was OK (needed swapping over) so the nit was retaining RDS FM Signal and saving them - then plugged in the jack - no luck  :(
The 'white' wire from the box on the PC99-X06 goes to a 'blue/red' thin wire on the main loom, is this correct?

I also have a larger multi-block connector with at least 24-30 small female pins, these have blue/yellow, white, green and black leads, I assume this must be something to do with the CDC? or OEM  Stereo Unit.
My Head Unit is a Pioneer DEH-110E - all functions working perfectly with superb AM/FM signal (wrong Aerial lead connected to the original head unit, was wired to old mobile phone aerial)CD, AUX....  :y

Any ideas?
Is there a separate circuit or fuse for the steering controls?
or somewhere else I can look  :-?
Many thanks
JERRY

Sounds like the PC99-X06 may have failed ?

The PC99-X06 should be a plug and play unit with no wiring modifications necessary - as we didn`t supply that bit, I can`t really comment on it

Extra pins on the top block are for changer and display, none of which are used on your system. So just leave them disconnected.

Thanks Dave
I wondered if that was the case, they don't look like they have been for some time? and where tucked right down at the back of the console.
