Engine Electiric light

2.2 16v CD auto,

was working fine, now this lights comes on when it feels like it,
i pulled over, turned the ignition off, then started up, light stayed off

keeps comming on and staying on,
i drove 10 miles with the light on, car is the same with it on and off, no idea why its comming on, no idea why its not affecting the performance of the car

What do you mean by electric light?

I'm guessing you mean the Orange Engine Management Light? If so, you need to get the fault codes read... It's detecting a fault somewhere ;) ;)

no its not the eml,

its the one with the car and spanner

no the eml is the one with the engine,

this is a car with a spanner sticking out the roof lol

the light you think is the EML is the emissions light  ;)

just im used to old school stuff were the engine picture was the eml lol

surly it should go into limp home mode, if the eml is on

where is the obd socket on these beasts lol

Depends on the fault whether it goes into limp.
OBD socket is in the fuse/rely box under the steering column.  ;)

just a report,

obd come up with nothing with the light on or off,

had a check light for about a week, washer fluid,  topped that up, lights not come on since, done approx 100miles lol

i mean WTF  :y

When the EML light is illumitated IIRC 30seconds or more, the fault code which flagged it is stored.

How did you get the codes (or lack thereof) read?
