Should this have 12volts going to it ? There is a plug with two wires running to it which I assume is to supply power to it ?
Is it just the Bose equipped cars which have it, or have they all got it ?
Problem is that I dont seem to be able to get any *sound* from FM stations. Other bands seem ok. :-/

Might have to swap mine to test it. But if they are supposed to recieve 12v from the plug with two wires I might have inadvertantly disconnect the supply. If I knew which wire was the supply, I could run 12v to it and see if it works. :-/

It's ignition switched 12V so would imagine it's a red/white wire.

Although you may (or may not) have removed the supply, I doubt very much you would have ditched the -VE (ground) connection.
Use a multimeter to establish which wire is -VE, and once you have proved that then the other one must be the +VE.

I think you have provided the answer (again) VXL V6.
There is a thick black wire and a thinner red/white wire going to it. I will try a live feed to the red/white wire later.

Although it may appear obvious (Honda use pure black for the switched +VE), I'd ascertain that the black wire is actually the -VE before applying power.

So does Vauxhall at the courtesy light, so would assume they do else where.  :-/

The red/white is live. It has power going to it. Only 8.5v though. Probably because the battery is almost flat. Would the lack of voltage cause the problem though ? :-/
Will charge battery tomorrow and find out I suppose.

It needs a good strong 12V as it's an amplifier so will draw a reasonable current.

Although simple amplifiers (such as RF) draw little current when in use, I'd agree with VXL V6 that 8.5V is way below the amplifiers minimum voltage requirement, hence it won't work.

Battery is on charge at the moment, although I have problems with my own car today which are much more pressing.
Will probably give it a quick test tonight, just to see if charging the battery has resolved things.
