Only viable option with that combination is an FM modulator - not ideal...

I just sold my Omega which I had one of these fitted, http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/for-ipod-and-iphone

Absolutely brilliant bit of kit, not cheap to fit if you have Bose but worth it.

So how did that wire in? Must either be FM transmitter, or bypass the HU (with all the problems that presents)

I know very little about car electrics, Halfords fitted it for me.
I had to buy what they called a by pass cable for the Bose amp which cost an extra £65 if I remember correctly.

It was not an FM transmitter as the Parrot is bluetooth.

I don't know what problems people on here refer to as I have mentioned this before that i had one fitted and pretty much got called a liar. Halfords seems to know exactly what they were doing and had it fitted in about 4 hours.

I must admit though as it was Halfords fitting it I was expecting problems but in all the time I had the car right up to last week when I traded it in the system was flawless.

If you want a hands free for recieving calls or making calls when driving then there are far cheaper bluetooth kits about (visorlite) but if you want to do what the OP was looking to do get the parrot.

So it bypasses the HU, thus losing all that functionality.  Also, I wouldn't expect reliability with a crappy 3rd party amp driving 2ohm Bose speakers ;)

Although, it could still be an FM transmitter - without trying to find it on Parrott's crappy website, who knows...

No. It's not an FM modulator and yes it does by pass the head unit. Don't know about Bose, but it works pretty good in a non-bose. Bluetooth hands free works nice and clear and voice recognition even ain't bad. It can stream music by bluetooth or from an SD card or memory stick. For the ipod it has a connector in the glove box which also charges the ipod and also has a standard 3.5mm jack for other brands of mp3 player. Overall, pretty impressive bit of kit, but sound quality won't match Bose me thinks.

There are a few variants of these on the Market now, Parrot have one, IQ PLAY etc, and they all work a similar way.

There is a box of tricks that has a seperate built in amplifier (roughly 4 x 25W usually) that goes in line with the speaker plugs from the original stereo. This box will then work independantly of the stereo and has its own volume control and audio inputs, phone kit controls etc etc. The stereo does not need to be switched on, and none of your displays and controls associated with the stereo can be used, which is the main reason everybody on here seems to have rejected them. They also CANNOT be used CORRECTLY with Bose, as these units are 4 Ohms, and exceptionally unstable when it comes to messing about with them.

Hope this clears up a few questions.
