Whereabouts of rear fog relay ? help
« on: 23 July 2011, 23:45:25 »

Hi everyone,
I need to know, fairly quickly, where the rear fog light relay lives on my 02 TDI.
Rear fogs absent, but dash warning light OK, so new switch works.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,

The only relay  I know of is integral to the main lightt switch so you can't leave your rear fogs on for a week after it was last foggy. Have you checked the wiring to the fogs around  the hinge area?

Check the tow bar electrics purple connector behind boot slam panel, if saloon. In there is a pin that breaks connection when the vx tow bar electrics socket is plugged in. You may well find that pin is not making connection, bit of corrosion or sumat, doesn't take much.

Just scrape the touching surfaces clean with a screw driver so it makes contact and it should be fine.

Thanks for all the great help guys. It was the towbar wiring at fault, couldn't have found it without your kind help.
Best wishes,
