3 points for a fraction would be harsh - do they not have any discretion?

Nah, they're complete barstewards on these, you have to find some technicality or prove they were wrong.

I got 'flashed' by an Infra red a few years ago doing 62 in a temp 50.  There was no flash so I thought nothing of it until 2 days before I deployed to Iraq I got the summons through.  There was no contesting it so I was sat there in desert combats in RAF Brize Norton waiting area writing out a cheque to these f*****s.

I got flashed two weeks ago today.  A road I use appears to have had the speed camera threshold cranked down so now it goes off regularly.

So, when I went through at about 35ish, it triggered.  Haven't had anything in the post yet.  Can only hope that so many people have been caught out that it runs out of film often.

Two things......

A big white line on the road telling you where to stop, and a red light telling you how long to wait for the GREEN to go.....

Mistime it and expect a £60 donation and 3 points.......

If it was a 747 you were sitting in, waiting to clear an active runway and the pilot decided to go 'a shade' earlier and you were in the firing line for the incoming 747 who decided to chance it by 'running the red' in his direction, what would you like to happen???

I accept your (valid) points Broocie.. But I'm sure the amber light was off and I'm still 99.9% confident I went on green.

The guy in the inside lane took off quicker than me, and was ahead of me when the camera flashed, lets hope it got him instead!

I guess that if the photo shows it was the other driver crossing the line on amber then it will be him who gets the ticket, however if it shows you both accross the line on amber then you will both be getting one. As for being unfamiliar with the area i dont think that will stand up in court because as far as i am aware all traffic lights in the country work on the same princible if i'm not wrong  :-/

Going over reds can be very easy

4 lanes 1 left 2 centre 1 right, all with own lights

|.| [::] |.| |.| [::] |.|

|.| is a lane

[::] is a pair of traffic lights the two outer do the outer the two inner do the main route.

1 red blown saw the green and went - noticed after I went, a red repeater.

And I know this messy junction, so it can be easy to be caught out

Anyone know how long it takes for a ticket to arrive after you've been flashed?   and when its safe to assume you are ok..?

I was under the impression that traffic light cameras only flashed once...

This site http://www.pepipoo.com/ explains everything you need to know about Speed and Traffic light cameras.

If you have not had a NIP (Notice of Intended Prosecution) within 14 days you will be OK.
