Brill!  :y
Great how-to; `already had a numpty Kwik-Fit fitter crack my metal housing (mercifully a scrap yard replacement unit rescued me) so this job is def. on my to-do list (after fitting cruise)  ;)

Only one query: the threaded-nipple (adaptor); is that a Vx part No or another supplier?

You can get the threaded part from Vx (not to expensive)

Does your CDx not have cruise control?

No cruise on my `99 CDX (oddly) :'(
I`ve bought a cruise-stalk from forum member Chris, but I`m still looking for a cruise-actuator to complete the job....please, anyone?

What do you use to tighten the adaptor? Suggested torque?
I'm going to do mine ASAP.

Been down to the Vx Dealer today and ordered the treaded nipple; `not a stock item there but `should have it in a day or two (£3.51 +VAT); `gonna pick up a couple of spin-on oil filters and a 3 for 4 pack of semi-synthetic oil when I go back to pick it up; then I`ll be sorted for all my summer cruisin`.  :y

At the parts counter, I mentioned the the reason I knew the P/N for the nipple was the 'How-to' on O.O.F: then the parts-manager instantly said "oh it`ll be on T.C terms then!"....Our reputation has travelled-far it seems!  ;)

Ow yes, I would start with 45Nm torque setting as thats what the housing attaches at and its the same thread etc...

I agree Mark, at least you can give the old filter and housing a good inspection to see if there are any forgien bodys in there that shouldn't be as this is a good indicator of engine wear or something starting to break down, just my opinion for what it's worth  ::)
