well started at 12.15 finished at 2.30. fitted my new rad on the car, got a few cuts on my arms but its done, and no leaks anywhere now, heating is a lot better too. didnt realise you have to take so much off to get it out.  only thing is, coolant level is still coming on when i switch on ignition, any ideas.

Coolant level sensor is in the expansion bottle.......so either you havent enough coolant in there.....or summat up with sensor.

Check the connections under the bottle, if they are clean and ok, then test the rest of wiring by shorting the contacts together in the plug......warning should go off if wiring ok.

Unfortuantley you carnt just replace the sensor.....you will need a new expansion bottle with sensor.

If you get a scrappy one........dont pay more than a fiver for it.......iirc there only about £30 from vx dealer new.

i did actually take the expansion tank off other day and clean it out, maybe theres some water in it, i shall investigate tomorrow. thanks for the help
