can some one tell me where the coolant temp sensor is located on the 3.0 omega,

rear of the engine on the coolant bridge.

Two sensors there, a single tab one which is for the instruments and a twin wire one for the ECU

is it easy to change or is access limited

With plenum off and inlet manifold out yes (can be done with just the scuttle removed but its a little more challenging)

The sensors Marks DTM mentions covers Engine ECU and insruments.

There is actually another, used purely for cooling fans, in the radiator :)
