Omega 2,5 V6 Engine problems?
« on: 28 September 2011, 16:47:40 »

Hi!
I have a 1995 Opel Omega B 2,5 V6, but the engine don't run well.
The rev stops at 4500 rpm and the engine lamp in the dash are on the most of the time i drive.

I have changed camshaftsensor, crankshaftsensor, spark plugs and the spark plug wires.
Also tried the Paperclip Test and then 16 and 19 came up.
16 Knock sensor 1
19 RPM signal (crankshaft sensor)

Is there any way to measure the resistance of the sensors on?
Do you have any other tips?

Thanks for answer!

That could still be your problem mate - did you use a genuine Vx crank sensor mate?  Pattern ones are no good & I've had a genuine Vx one fail within weeks!!

Yes, I bought a genuine crank sensor on a Opel dealer!

Knock sensor is the cause of the low power and the rev limit.

Code 16 is knock sensor 1 which is on the 1-3-5 bank (left bank as viewed from the front).

THE most common cause of this is miss routing following cambelt change and the wire being caught and damaged in the aux belt or even trapped under the idler assembly.

I have changed the knock sensor today, but still it won't go over 4500 rpm and the engine lamp are in the dash.

Have you repeated the paperclip test again after replacing the sensors?
