tc and abs lights on intermitently

Hi All.
What is the most likely cause? Sometimes they come on when going over a bump in the road or even under acceleration.
Loose connection feels the thing, but where?

If post 1998, you probably don't want to hear that ECU is likely...

mmmm what does the speedo do when the lights come on ????

 If it drops to zero ... then the ECU is suspect .. if it stays working then possible a loose connection on a single abs sensor at the wheels.

Could be a sensor though, especially if the speedo isnt acting up. Had the same with mine last week, turned out to be o/s/r sensor.
Needs diagnosis imo. ;)

9 times out of 10, on post 98 cars, its bad news though

Its a 1997. Speedo fine. Lukcy so far. Will get to checking wires near sensors then.

if last letter of vin is V, then sensors become more likely, or a sticky relay in edu (tap it)

I have had two 97 cars. Both registered in October. One has the earlier braking system (reliable) and the other the "98" spec that was prone to ECU failure.

Check your VIN.

A Jan 97 model, so will have been made in 96. The last letter is a V.

Unlikely anything will be visibly wrong imo (although you never know), might be worth givng the face of the sensors a clean but really needs plugging into a reader which will either say which sensor is giving trouble or tell you the ABS ECU is dying.
