I'm not so old, 39, but I HATE the way kids use language and words these days, especially when people who work for me use text-speak when replying to a text. I always text long-hand, I don't really see that text-speak is that much quicker. And anyway, it takes longer to decipher sometimes than it's worth. Some of the shite that they put in their texts has to be seen to be believed, honetly 

Far worse than that, in my opinion, is the increasingly more frequent use of 'text speak' when people are actually talking.  My kids do it all the time, especially saying 'lol' if they find something midly amusing.  Mind you, when they do that they usually don't stay amused for long as I invariably have a go at them for it, it just infuriates me.

I didn't pay much attention in school, around about the time school became important I noticed girls and spent more time chasing after them than doing home work but saying that, I hate text talk even when i'm texting.
