Intermittent noise from rear of MIG
« on: 01 October 2011, 20:40:49 »

Gents,

Wonder if someone can point me in the right direction to a possible cause of an intermittent noise i have coming from the rear of my MIG.

I can only describe it as a howl, it only happens at slow speed when i am only turning to the right, either forward or reverse i.e. such as in a car park.

Sometimes the noise is there sometimes it is not, have noticed that when the noise starts if i press on the brakes the noise goes, so possible brake issue?  If i am reversing onto my drive way and the noise starts it will go away the moment the car hits the lowered curb.

Once the noise has been heard and then goes i do not hear it again for the whole day.

The brake pads were changed several months ago and the rear brakes have started to squeal when i brake when reversing.

Could this be a possible calliper issue, or maybe a leak within the braking system.  I think i may be leaking some brake fluid somewhere as the level in the fluid reservoir looks a little low.

Appreciate all help and advice.

Many thanks

Dave
