Before this printer goes through the window

I am trying to print from my laptop, on an HP Deskjet F380.
I have printed one picture but now it won't print. It is switched on and the usb is plugged in. It is set as default printer but in all the printer properties bits it shows the printer offline, if I cick use offline then it says offline  offline and still does not print.
How do I get this printer back online.
Please, easy language only.

Sorry to make such a simple suggestion; but have you tried rebooting?....I have the same probs. here with the notebook to printer connection and it works for my HP printer.

Thanks Deb's now have some pics for my daughter to take to school, of our Aquarium. :) :) :)
