mv6 wots it worth ??
« on: 06 October 2011, 13:35:36 »

sorry of this is in the wrong room,if it is shift it plese  :D

ok i fancy  leather mv6 trim and have spotted a complete 3.0 ltr mv6 fl saloon with the correct leather trim, now i do not want a big engined petrol car so am considering buying it and swopping stuff over like the full leather recaro trim and a few other bits and bobs and getting rid again
thing is its a tidy looking car and if i swop stuff off our elite onto the mv6 i think it could make the car unsellable unless your not fussed and want a big engined vauxhall with a spec thats not right anymore. So the other option is breaking it to get rid,
i know people use the engines for vectra conversions but am i likely to get stuck with it after i have had the trim and a few other goodies and really i'm better just waiting for a mv6 lt recaro trim and save myself the hassle..
thanks in advance   ???

My question would be why bother !   If you have an Elite already and you consider it NOT to have a big engine then it must be the 2.5 or 2.6.  The 3.0 won't be any different really as long as you don't drive too madly.

Appreciate that the Elite has more toys but the 3.0 is more fun to drive imho.

Which car is in better condition ?

Also...to be honest..Resell values on our Mig's aren't exactly high to begin with so you might as well drive the best yer bucks will give you.

Why not, my 2.5 diesel which is a manual and chipped so producing almost if not more BHP than a 2.5 petrol has been upgraded to elite spec ie full leather, rear blind, HIDs with washers, self dimming rear view mirror, 17" alloys ect and personally I think its a better car for what I want it for ;)

I drove Omegatoys 2.5 heavily chipped 2.5TD manual, which also had some "special" upgrades. It flew! Smooth too.

eh ? i have had v6 omegas,2.0 omegas,2.2 petrol omegas and also diesel omegas and i would not touch anything else other than a diesel now. i also know a lpg specialist  and see too many vauxhalls that run crap on gas or cost loads when they go wrong so my omega of choice is a 2.2 dti elite that does nearly 50 mpg and can run cheeep bio no probs, also i don't care about performance just comfort and economy as its our smoker.
if i want performance i drive my mitsi evo  :D.

anyway back on track i want a recaro leathered up high spec diesel fl and could not find one so it looks like the only way is to build one  :y

my 2.2 runs fine on LPG, has done for past 20k on a good day, it costs just 10p a mile to run.  :)

If the cars run crap on gas, then that LPG "specialist" is not very special are they? Its not been done right  ;) :)

F/L Sports seats will go in, assuming your interior is dark so it will match.  You will loose heated rear seats & all memory functions for front seat & mirrors.

Personal choosing I guess. But for me I could never own one. Doesn't matter how you dress them up they still spoke like a chimney under fast accceleration, sound like tractors when stationary and most stink, certainly in traffic.

I friend has just spent 18k on an CDTI Insignia and whilst he loves the car generally he admits to say it sounds like a tractor in the mornings and dearly wishes his sounded as meaty as my 3.0 petrol. Sure, he returns about 42mpg but its just not a trade I'm willing to make.

Absolutely personal choice though.

I think you need to justify that.  Book figures don't match real world, nor do you know the usage ;)

I struggle to break 40mpg in a cdti Insignia, and that mainly dual carriageway ;)

my 2.2 runs fine on LPG
Can't agree with that either, sorry. There is clearly something wrong, suspect a combo of poor injectors and poor evap...

Injectors are OK (I think) but the Vaporiser was always going to be borderline, as I said right from the start ;)
