« on: 11 October 2011, 17:50:11 »

Just got a pair of new shocks on trade club  (£139 and a few pence  )as my elite bounces a couple of time when pushed down by hand, am i correct in that the brake discs do not have to be removed to replace the shocks ( not sure about the caliper thou ).

The top caliper carrier bolt needs to be removed.

As to post editing, until we have stability, some features are disabled. Hopefully we can get on top of this soon, but its time consuming.

Remeber to hold the damper rod still when undoing the top nut, and only undo the top one before fitting compressors on to the spring. :y

The shocks where on order from underwoods of clacton, they where ordered last tuesday and i was told they would be ready for collection on the thursday,  rang them thursday to be told that they could only locate one shock at the moment and would ring me friday to let me know when the second shock would be in stock, rang them today and still no shock, i then told them i will be cancelling the order if they cannot give a date for the arrival of the second shock , their reply was i would have to pay for one of the shocks  >:(, you could not make it up ), also is it the norm for them to take payment for the shocks ( £139 ) on the same day there ordered ??

Can't answer for any other dealer but we do not take payment at the time of ordering for this very reason, we will take payment details at the time of ordering but will not process the payment until the parts are ready to ship.

You may well find that the other shock is on backorder from Vauxhalls. If this is so then they will be waiting for the backoder section of Vauxhalls to find one and come back to them with an ETA.

They should have also contacted you as soon as they knew the shock wasn't going to be available, thats just good customer service at the end of the day

If your stuck please give me a call on the number listed below and i'll get onto the order system as see if they are back ordered

Cheers
Andy
