Sudden drop in Revs
« on: 14 October 2011, 08:23:56 »

Having persuaded a work collegue to get himself an Omega, I now need advice to pass on to him about a fault which has developed in his 2.2 litre Deisel Engined Facelift CDX Saloon (Manual).

When he drives along, the Engine Management light comes on and his engine revs drop, the engine doesn't cut out, but it does "hunt" for a while, then the light goes out and he gets full power again. Any Ideas where he should be looking?

Getting the codes read would be the first course of action. Unfortunately, on the 2.2 this needs a code reader of some description as they can't be flashed out on the light. If he can find someone with an OBDII reader and post the codes that were stored that would help. Failing that, get the car to one of us with a Tech 2.
