Top Gear USA
« on: 18 October 2011, 12:54:09 »

Saw this by accident late last night on TV. Quite good. It clearly follows the BBC format and has a "Stig", a test track which has a nice straight where cars can reach up to 150mph. I thought the superimposed map showing where the car was was a bit naff though.

Presenters seemed a bit characterless, though no doubt are known to the yanks watching. They did have balls though putting the 3 Lambos through their paces getting up to 173,175 and 180 mph before putting the brakes on.

I just loved the Dodge Viper. I know you can get more sophisticated cars but to me that is the point.

Anyone else see it?

Imo, I thought it was cr*p   :(

The car bit was good to see but it was spoilt by the 3 yanks trying to be funny  :-X :-X
It just sounded like thet was reading of a script card for most of the show  ::)

With the UK show, they is a bit of off the cuff banter which makes the show Imo  :y

might check that out too. I know that a big factor in the appeal of any such shows are the personalities of the presenters and their interactions but  TG (or more properly The Clarkson Show these days) is increasingly becoming all a bit tired for me. Yeh, they still have their moments but maybe time for a revamp?

Watched bit about Dodge Viper for a few minutes, thought presenters were as dry as the Arizona desert or eating 10 packets of cream cracker in one go and switched to another channel.  ::) ::) :D :D

Totally agree with above fella. Its the complete "lads" lack of typical "lads" banter. Caught it by accident and thought the presenters were shite! Was only the Viper that kept me watching. Was the chat with Buzz Aldrin really worth it - the presenter could've made much more of it!
