glow plugs life

how long on an average do glow plugs last. mine have been in approx 5yrs now.  :) :y

5 years sounds good, have you measured them individually might be missing one or two.

Another thing to check is the GP relay as the contacts can arc across and intermittently switch the GP's on when not required, that can kill them off pretty quick.

There are a few factors will have an impact on life expectancy, most notably your driving habits and the quality of the plug itself.

For example, if you use el cheapo plugs and do a lot of short journeys then it wouldn't surprise me to see the plugs failing a lot sooner than someone who does (say) 100 miles a day on motorways, etc while using quality plugs.
