H21 is right, I should have indeed followed up my joke with a useful answer. Sorry :(

Paperclip method fine for flashing out codes, but for more in depth diagnosis there are a few options, including readers/resetters available on a well known auction website :y

I've sorted it "My Naff Code Reader" and Laptop works fine
