To add insult to injury I got done for speeding once, hightailing it out of Wales...... at the bridge!!! 

I think another member is 'fully clenched' awaiting a brown envelope for doing similar on the Severn Crossing

We winge when we come to Wales precisely because it's so expensive!!! Oh and 'cos it's always bloody raining!!

I've got some friends who live near a suspension bridge on the river Loire at St Nazaire in France

When it first opened it cost 10 francs about £1 to cross, but after about 20 years it had made so much money it had paid for itself, plus a big enough fund to cover all foreseeable maintenance costs, so they made it toll FREE. 

You can just see that happening in ripoff fleece the motorist at every opportunity Britain, can't you. 

That's exactly what was promised for the Dartford crossing, unless I'm very much mistaken. Either that was a very expensive bridge or we're being shafted. Hmm. I wonder which that'd be?

That was the promise.The reason given for the charge now is firmly in the "you couldnt make it up" category. It was reclassified as a congestion charge,due to high localised pollution.There is only one reason for the high localised pollution - vehicles queueing to pay the charge.

Pah! No matter how you dress it up TB, it's still rather expensive!! and no matter what it'll always get my goat!!!    If I had to use the Dartford bridge regularly no doubt that'd get my goat as well    Imagine if/when they bring in road pricing?
