Bottled Gas
« on: 01 November 2011, 16:43:30 »

I've just ordered five 47kg propane bottles of gas. The best price I could negotiate was £52 each. Total £260. Last year we paid a paltry £40 a bottle. Total £200. :-\

Destitution is just a pay cheque away..... :-\

That has got to be about the going rate for propane or butane.

In Spain the standard bottles are 12.5Kg and cost about 14 euros (economically adjusted equals 14 pounds) so that works out at about 52.6.

There was me thinking the gas here (from Algeria) was cheap!

I had to connect two bottles to a large tank that had run dry.

Yup, I connected the two bottles up to the large static tank via a proper tee coupling after Calor , the supplying company, had failed to periodically check the contents of the tank and fill as neccessary.
We manage the house and the owner had arrived along with several senior Oil Industry Execs for his annual golf weekend when he called to say that the boilers had shut down.
Incidently they were fitted on the Friday evening and were both empty when Calor arrived to fill the static tank on the following Tuesday morning .
It's a large house...... ::)

I should have said that the two bottles were then returned to the garage on the reciept.
