What is up with the law in this country!
« on: 02 November 2011, 08:13:43 »

My company had five drivers robbed last week, all one day after the other, he (the theif) then set about robbing three drivers from 2 other companies. At the weekend all of our drivers knew who he was, and we had a picture of him in all 30 cars. The police were informed and were on the hunt for him, as he'd just come out of prison after a five year stretch for an armed robbery on a Tesco store in Ashford. So anyway, we were informed Monday that he'd been caught, and the police had him in custody. Alls well that ends well me and all the other drivers thought, anyway yesterday the police told us he's been in court and been let off as they're is insufficient evidence!!! They said "because you've had pictures in the car you're drivers and the drivers from the other companies are just going on that"! Not the fact that every driver who was robbed confirmed that it was him. So he's got away with around £2000 and got off with it. This country is a sham!

This is what happens when the law is a business and not what it was intended to be. It would cost money to go through the courts and jail him, so no profit. Much better to fine the generally law abiding, they make profit then.

I understand how wrong it is.

How bizarre . :o
Surely the Police had the drivers and any other witnesses who were actually robbed, identify the accussed ?
I would have thought that that would have been more than sufficient evidence to proceed......

Why am I not suprised, taking the easiest way out useless tossers >:( >:(
I have lost all faith in our police force I am sorry to say, not a bloody clue have of 'em :(. If you report 'owt short of murder they send round a plastic community whatever if they send any one at all. >:( >:(.

I know that there are good coppers out there, and if I was involved in a serious car crash they would be the first to help, but as for crime I give in.

This country needs to get seriously back on track.

Apparently that's insufficient evidence, even though when shown the picture the drivers' said that's him to the Police.

SORRY I read this wrong and had an unwarranted pop at the police, for which I apologise.

Obviously I should have questioned the legal system allowing the chap to evade punishment.

Did the drivers who were victims/witnesses all provide written statements to Police?

Was the CCTV / Pictures seized and exhibited?

Surely, at minimum, for something of this nature, a trial would be held, and relevent people called to give evidence?  :(

All pictures taken from the car of the offender were taken by the Police, they weren't asked to give statements, only asked when shown a photo "Is this him?" to which they replied yes. Thing is, he was inside for 5 years, for armed robbery and this has insufficient evidence  >:( Makes my blood boil, I do hope he tries it on with one of us lot again, we've all been told "Do what you like" this time!
