ABS, TC lights on
« on: 03 November 2011, 11:09:01 »

Not on mine, a friends.

Intermittant ABS/TC lights on and no speedometer.

My code reader won't communicate with the ABS.

No fault codes elsewhere.

Forgot to mention it's a 2.5 petrol estate.

Thanks James, I'll break the happy news to him.

And another.... :(

IMHO the best option is a repair by someone like BBA Reman.  New is way too expensive, 2nd hand is risky .. it could be just about to fail, it might need a tech2 sesion to work. At least with a repair you know it will work and it has a 2 year warranty ...

Just my thoughts ..nowt else .. :)

n/s inner wing. Attached to the ABS pump (which has lots of brake pipes going into it) - a bit of a pig to remove. ;)

It is not a "difficult" job technically .. but it is a pig of a job access wise .. make sure the swear box is empty and you have a lot of change :) (Removal is not so bad .. but refitting really is a pig, if I had a pound for every time I dropped a bloody screw I'd be able to buy 2 more Omegas!!)

Do BBA Reman have a good reputation ? Mine has just failed on the Bavarian Muck Wagon. Luckily it is a 10 minute job to remove  :y
