Removing the injector bridge
« on: 03 November 2011, 14:34:28 »

Having fixed a leaking cam cover oil seal at the weekend I came across the same problem as last time - is there a knack for getting the injector bridge out from between the heads?

I wiggled it, jiggled it, slid it forwards, slid it backwards, tilted it left, tilted it right - nothing! Stood back and scratched my head a bit and tried again. Out it came! No fuss, no fiddling, straight out! No idea how I got it out!! When I refitted it exactly the same thing happened!

So come on guys; what's the knack? Are there any cut-outs or shaped 'passing places' in the castings anywhere? Any particular design features that allow it to lift in/out cleanly?

Or is it specially shaped just to make life hard and to confuse the amateur?!?!

Cheers,
Gaz

Yes, there are cutouts and there is a knack - I'll find the relevant post in a mo, assuming Rob doesn't get there first.  ;)

Anyway, thanks Rob, I still don't know how you manage to get there so fast every time - is there a knack?  8)
