Guess who is still trying to cancel his order? That's right, this guy!

Here's how the call went today:

Me: "I'd like to cancel this order, it's been a month now, a month of broken promises and failures to deliver"
Her: "Well you see the wheels and tyres go to our warehouse and get fitted and then shipped out."
"Yes, but you said they would be shipped out last week, and here we are.. it's Wednesday and there's no sign of them"
"Well you will be notified when they ship"
"It's been a month now. Cancel my order."
"I will have to email the warehouse and ask them if they can do that. You will hear back within 24 hours"
"You said that last time and nobody got back to me, can you not call them now? And there is no 'if' you will cancel this order - you will cancel this order per the distance selling regulations in the UK."
"I will have to email the warehouse"
"So you don't have a telephone number for your own company?"
"No"
"Ok, can you give me the email address for the warehouse?"
"They only speak German"
"That's ok, I have people here who can translate me an email"
"Oh. I cannot. I will have to email them and you will hear back in 24 hours."
"Do you have a phone number for your German office?"
"It is on the web site"
"You can't give it to me?"
"No, I am not able to"
"So.. you are sitting there with no access to the internet, and no telephone?"
"I will have to email the warehouse."
"Look, you WILL cancel this order. There is no if, no doubt, you will cancel this order. If you do deliver the goods they will be returned to you and the credit card company will file a chargeback as you have failed to ship in a reasonable time.
"I will have to email the warehouse"

Quite simply the worst company I have ever, ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

(I paraphrase the conversation a little, but that's the basic thrust of it all.)

Contact your credit card company or bank immediately asking for the transaction to be reversed, due to failure to deliver. If not done already. No further action required. Might take some time, but you'll certainly get my tyres  attention then.

Ah yes - it's not quite that bad, I suppose; they don't charge until they actually ship them so I'm not out any money, just the b***ache of trying to get them to cancel something that they don't seem to have any intention of delivering in a timely fashion, which is winding me up something chronic!

If they'd given a firm date and stuck to it, I'd have been fine.. but since they've now started giving random dates and still failing to deliver, they've really ticked me off.

I don't want the order fulfilled on principle at this point.. still, at least November has been mild, eh!

Since you've got nowhere on the phone, I'd write to them, copied to your credit card company, stating your requirement to cancel your order and referencing the relevant parts of the distance selling regs. I'd also point out that, should they ignore your request and ship the items, they will be responsible for collecting them at a time convenient to you. Could even be really cheeky and set out your storage charges should there be a delay in collecting them. ;D

I did call the CC company today about it - although they can't prevent them from taking the money (since a credit card is a 'guaranteed' payment), they will still let me file an 'undelivered goods' form; even if mytyres deliver the goods as, in lieu of a clearly stated delivery timescale, 30 days is considered 'unreasonable'.. which would be quite amusing, I suppose - if annoying!

But yeah, since calls and emails have failed, it seems snail-mail is the only remaining recourse.. registered post, of course.

I find this very odd. I just placed an order for a friend for 225/55/16 Dunlop 3D winter tyres X4. Thanks to my stupidity I placed the order twice and ordered 8 tyres instead. Called them up, its already shipped. What to do next, they advised to refuse the second delivery which I did. That was last week and my paypal refund has just gone through. No problems at all. All dealt with someone called Ivana. ANd no charge for something which was essentially my mistake. I know for a fact that if I had made this mistake with a UK based company then I would be paying for postage and return charges etc etc.

What tyres have you ordered that are so difficult to get?

Marangoni winter tyres, though I don't think it's the tyres that cause the problem - it seems to be the steel wheels (I ordered them as part of their 'package deal') that caused the issue.

Still, after my sternly worded phone call yesterday and a sternly worded post on their Facebook 'fan page', I've miraculously received an email this morning stating that my order is cancelled for "other reasons"

Shame it took two weeks to get to that point! If they'd just have given a delivery timescale, I'd have been happy.. but since they'd already said "Friday" once (and that was last Wednesday, the 9th) I ran out of faith in their ability to do much of anything.

Out of interest, were you calling their 0808 number with the computer generated voice prompts?

Oddly enough Cem, I just ordered a set of Goodyear UG 8 from Camskill, apparently in stock for next day delivery  :y

The best bit was their reply on Facebook btw;

Quote
Dear Aaron, I looked at your order and I am very sorry that we were not able to convince you with great customer service.
We apologize once again for the delay of delivery and the inconveniences caused.
All wheels are fitted especially for our customers order and at the moment we have a very high volume of orders. Please accept our apology.

Well, they might have been able to convince me with great customer service, had they, at any time, provided it.. ;D

£297.16 - that's for 195/65R15, T rated tyres (highest speed rating they now have in stock - d'oh)..

It'd be a slightly more eye-watering £722 in 235/45R17!
