Yeah - not too bad at all really.. there are slightly cheaper tyres (£40-60 or so over four), but not bad. Fitting will cost me £40 or so at my local, plus a bit as I already owe them a few quid for knocking some tyres off other wheels ;D

Oddly enough Cem, I just ordered a set of Goodyear UG 8 from Camskill, apparently in stock for next day delivery  :y

The best bit was their reply on Facebook btw;

Quote
Dear Aaron, I looked at your order and I am very sorry that we were not able to convince you with great customer service.
We apologize once again for the delay of delivery and the inconveniences caused.
All wheels are fitted especially for our customers order and at the moment we have a very high volume of orders. Please accept our apology.

Well, they might have been able to convince me with great customer service, had they, at any time, provided it.. ;D

what high volume of orders.. they had a whole month.. within that time I could have sent you 4 tyres  and you could have sent me back and I could have sent you again and you could have received and ...... ;D

and good news you bought ug-8, today in a car magazine there was a winter tire test and ug-8 was #1.. :y

At least everything turned out for the best.

Told you sourcing wheels here would be better, turns out faster too haha.  Much better tyres, and overall price should be similar.  Result.

We've even had a mild November so far, so not missed out there either.  :y

  True!

Yeah, I did a quick google and they came 2nd and 3rd in previous years tests (the first couple of tests that I found, anyway).. the best rated tyre that was in stock. I'd probably have gone for a lower rated 'V rated' tyre had one been in stock, but they're all sold out now.

Yup - although it was a bit parky yesterday, it's warmed up again.. very mild November; since I've now bought winter tyres, you can be sure there probably won't even be a frost down here ;D

It's beautiful sunshine here today, and probably 11-12ºC .. lovely autumn weather.

Not to rub it in, or anything.. ;)

(You're right, though, even if this year is mild, next year might not be - and they'll still be there, waiting..)

I'm trying to wait until it averages <7ºC (at least in the mornings and evenings) .. but the weather keeps fooling me by doing it for a day then warming back up again ;D

Still - the tyres should arrive Monday, so that gives me the weekend to clean the steel wheels up and get the bird poo & rust off them (;D) and spray them with hammerite. Maybe it'll be cold on Monday ;)

Surely not a new tyre or was it a Wanli/sunny/I will kill you at the next corner tyre?

I know for a fact that if I had made this mistake with a UK based company then I would be paying for postage and return charges etc etc.
Nope, Distance Selling Regulations stipulate that if you change your mind for any reason, the retailer must pay for the return postage, as long as the item is returned in resalable condition (ie, unopened), and yout notify them within 7 days of receipt.

My country nose tells me we are not going to have a bad winter...  ...the same nose that said, despite all the media hype, we would not have snow all over the country in October ;)

Can this nose also provide things like lottery numbers? Because those would be very useful indeed.. ;)
