i dont have enough posts to use for sale on the forum so cant offer it here.

has anyone used the we buy a car company?

is it realy that good?

ebay is an option but i have to remove the cherished plate first. oh i love the dvla!

what is the market like at the moment or shal i try and convince her we need two cars.

plus baby number three does not help!

Do not use "we buy any car" unless you're happy with scrap value or less for it chuck it on Autotrader if you have to part ways

'Old on Shadwell, seems like you and your beloved are in agreement you only need two cars!!    Dunno what the other cars are but fight for The Mig...    Especially with 3 bambinos....

Others on here have said they offer a low price then, when you take the car in, invent reasons to drop their offer even further.

If it's a petrol V6 the price will be low anyway - fuel costs I guess.

definatley we buy any car should be last resort they offer a good price to get you down the valuation centre then rip your car to bits etc

Sister in Law recently used 'we buy any van' or something of that sort, when we heard what they had offered we all said take it, and she did within 24 hours, she got about 3 or 4 times what we said it was worth, needles to say she was more that happy and went off and bought a 4x4

She lost her last 4x4 because she left it running in the severe cold to warm it up and it was stolen, last winter, and insurance have refused to pay out

Rottweiler in the passenger seat? (And yes, I thought it was an offence to leave a vehicle running unattended..)

Though didn't the police have some gizmo for doing just that - you take the keys out, car continues running, but if you try to drive off (presumably hooked to the handbrake or neutral switch) without putting the keys back in it cuts out?

Although you may still run into trouble leaving the vehicle running - I'm not sure if exemption can be sought for 'non-emergency' vehicles.

Yep, been looking at run lock devices. Fortunately recovery vehicles (which it it classed as) carry an exemption anyway, or they certainly used to.

Unfortunately it's not just securing the vehicle against theft I'm looking for. I want the cab secured as it contains sat Nav, card machine, job sheets, etc, etc. Can't lock the doors with the back doors open so I'll be reduced to flicking the catch across on the rear door to fool the CL. If the doors are locked I'm not so worried about run lock as I'll be working at the rear of it anyway
