Viva La Vida - Coldplay - Violin cover
« on: 07 November 2011, 22:49:08 »

Been going through some YouTube with Miss Nickbat tonight for her violin lessons and t'was she who unearthed this.

Knowing how hard the violin is to master, I have to hand it to this chap. He's done a great job and the result is strangely haunting. No wonder it has got 2.6m views.  :y

A cover is a cover and not meant to match the original. That said, when the original score can be successfully arranged for a single instrument or orchestrated for many, it says a lot for the the quality of the original.  :y :y

Quite nicely played, but almost anything by Coldplay is always going to be pretty awful imo.Music to be very bored quickly by imo.
The only exception would be "fix you",but thats for purely personal reasons.  ;)
Its music for the trendy middle class rebels down in Hoxton square. :)

Now you're talking, Max.

Although that brought me here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-f_xrx_1k8&feature=related - I swear he has unnaturally long fingers.. I don't think mine ever stretched that far up the neck, even when I used to practice.

Finger extensions, anyone? ;D

many shredders leave me a bit bored, but Satriani is the best of them, many of his tunes have "soul" and "move" me....

and some are just "cool"

to the point where i even bothered to learn a few.....

The forgotten Parts 1 and 2,   Flying in a blue dream,  Ride , The telephone call, Summer Song,
Crystal Planet , Lights of Heaven,  and Ceremony are my favourites.

(and yes Aaron....  i can.....    ;D )

AND I CAN ED*T , Sorry,  MODIFY <     OH YES YES YEEEESSSSSS

I knew there was a reason I never had much success with women.

Must be my unnaturally short fingers.

My lack of interest might be due to the fact that he came along after I had turned 20 (a very long time ago). I lost interest in music then, and it has never really returned for some reason. :-\

Dunno about clearing the custard Den, seeing the Newtownards Road brought a tear to the eye. :'( ::)

Was clearing the custard listening to this earlier, but Im guessing it wont clear yours. :-\ ::)
Volume must be at least set to 11 before song commences. :y I blew 3 pairs of B&O headphones listening to the intro of this song many years ago.More than likely made a significant contribution to the onset of tinnitus at the same time. ::) ;D

Impressive!   The violin isn't one of the easiest to master, so fair play to him, that was brilliant :y
