There's one major downfall of this type of steering wheel lock, which I won't mention on an open forum.

If your buying a device, buy one that covers the whole wheel.

I just presumed Manta wanted to use it as a .. close-to-hand bat-shaped device in the event of an emergency as they're well known as being useless at their originally intended task..

Then carry a baseball bat. It's not ilegal unless you admit what it's intended for.

Much better to get one of those long aluminium torches, with a wrist band so it stays attached to you. As we all know that you need the torch for emergencies, breakdowns etc.

No no, I really wanted a lock 

Getting older and less fit really is a pain, and I thought it may add to peace of mind. Southampton is not as safe as it once was.
