Hello all.
Just a quick introduction - I'm Mark, 19 and live on the Wirral. I've owned the Omega now for about 6 weeks and have loved every minute of it. 'Molly' the Miggy was owned by a friend of mine who was putting it up for sale after getting his new toy (3.2 V6 Signum with a remap). Originally he wanted about £1500 for it. I'd always loved the car since I'd first seen it and with the chance to own it all I needed to find was the money. Unfortunately at the same time, my Vectra started to have problems ('03 2.2 DTi with straight through exhausts) and it was suspected to be the fuel pump on its way out. I was talking to my mate about it and we decided to do a deal. We'd swap, I'd take Molly and he'd either sort out the Vectra and sell it on or break it for parts. After my jaw had hit the floor about the price rise with the Omega (up to about £2k now for a year, although still cheaper than 1.4 Corsa's!) I decided to go for it. A couple of days later I said goodbye to my beloved Vectra. I loved that car, it was lowered, stiff as hell, clattery with not being the more modern CDTi engine, the bright silver with black wheels made it look the part and the two huge straight through pipes out the back gave it a lovely roar and the sound of the turbo screaming was magic. That car had done 200,000 miles when I let go of it but after lots of little mods was producing 10 more BHP than stock with a dodgy vac control for the turbo and stock torque. I bloody loved that car. It was a sad day to see it go.
Right I've rambled on a lot now so I'll whack up a couple of photos of Molly from the previous owner and my old car (complete with ASBO colour scheme) and I shall see you all around! In the photos below I'm parked behind Molly, and that's the Vectra on Midpoint Garage's rolling road.
